VOXX International Corporation officially opened its new 115,000 square foot manufacturing facility during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by company executives, community leaders and elected officials. VOXX, a leading manufacturer and distributor of automotive, consumer accessories and premium audio products, first announced it would build a new manufacturing center and headquarters last year and create 134 new jobs with a $17.5 million investment. The company has 173 existing jobs.Pat Lavelle, president and CEO of VOXX International said, “This is a major milestone for our Company and I would like to personally thank everyone who made this facility opening possible.With over 250 product development specialists and engineers on staff, we continue to bring to market new technologies that bridge the gap in consumer and automotive technologies, while bringing the concept of the connected car to life and with this new facility we significantly enhance our production capabilities.”

VOXX International considered other alternatives but chose Orlando’s Lake Nona for its existing production facility, local-based talent pool for expansion, proximity to major transportation hubs and business friendly climate. The project was made possible with the assistance of Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic OpportunityCareerSource FloridaOrange County and the Orlando Economic Development Commission.

The establishment of VOXX International’s headquarters has already felt the collaborative benefits of being located in Orlando. VOXX has struck a partnership with local small business Echo Interaction Group, who created the software that goes into the automotive electronics that VOXX manufactures. It is through partnerships like these that Orlando’s economy really thrives.
