Paylocity, a provider of cloud-based payroll and HR management software solutions for medium-sized organizations across the country, is expanding in Lake Mary and creating 176 new jobs. In addition to the expansion, Paylocity will invest approximately $1.45 million in the local community.

Governor Scott said, “We are excited to announce the creation of 176 new jobs in Lake Mary today. Paylocity has already created 150 jobs for local families, and this expansion is great news. We will stay focused on diversifying Florida’s economy by cutting $1 billion in taxes this year so businesses across the state can keep creating jobs and Florida can become first for job growth.”

Paylocity services thousands of businesses across the nation in need of payroll and HR services and was recognized by Florida Trend, a state business magazine, in 2013 as one of the best companies to work for in Florida.

“Our Lake Mary, Florida office plays a vital role in Paylocity’s mission to elevate payroll and human resources from the backroom to the boardroom. We look forward to a bright future as we expand and add even more talented and committed team members,” says Steve Beauchamp, Paylocity CEO.

The Paylocity expansion was made possible through partnerships between Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Orlando Economic Development Commission, Seminole County, the City of Lake Mary, CareerSource Florida, the University of Central Florida, Seminole State College, and Seminole County Public Schools.

Bill Johnson, CEO and President of Enterprise Florida, said, “Today’s announcement of Paylocity’s expansion in Lake Mary is great news. We are working every day to diversify our economy and create better jobs for Floridians. Great companies like Paylocity are recognizing that Florida is the best place to do business, and I look forward to seeing their continued success.”

“We are finding more and more IT companies expanding their presence in Orlando,” said Rick Weddle, president and CEO of the Orlando EDC. “Our well-educated and diverse workforce is elevating the region as a top destination for IT talent.”

“Our strategy to partner with the state and City of Lake Mary will once again benefit our citizens by creating job opportunities. I believe that our educational partnerships and housing options coupled with a reputation for an outstanding quality of life helps attract a talented workforce to our community”, said Brenda Carey, Seminole County Board of County Commissioners.

As part of the project, CareerSource Florida has offered Paylocity performance-based grants for employee training through the Quick Response Training program. Quick Response Training grants are structured to be flexible and responsive to the training needs of new or expanding businesses.

“Our collective goal is to attract more companies, especially those within our targeted industries, to expand and add careers in our region,” said CareerSource Central Florida President/CEO Pamela J. Nabors. “Central Florida has an abundance of highly skilled, highly educated talent, and to see businesses recognize and react to our rich talent pool, either by locating or expanding here, shows we’re on the right track to meeting their needs.”

“Seminole State College, through our Quick Response Training (QRT) Grant program, is pleased to assist Paylocity as it again expands its operations in Lake Mary. This is the third QRT grant our staff has supported for this fast-growing software company since 2012. This sustained growth will provide excellent employment opportunities for our region and for our graduates,” said Seminole State College of Florida President Dr. E. Ann McGee.
