An interesting and compelling article appeared in the January 5, 2016 Orlando Sentinel which featured a commentary penned by National Airlines President Edward Davidson. The piece, Airlines leader praises power of partnership: My Word, outlines why National Airlines established its headquarters in Orlando in 2013 bringing $875,000 in capital investment to the region and creating more than 105 new jobs. Davidson attributes National’s relocation, and subsequent success in Orlando, to the region’s strong economic development partnerships and unparalleled resources for business growth.

Since 1991, National Airlines has provided high quality freight forwarding services for customers in over 220 countries. Just last month, they launched their first scheduled passenger services with nonstop flights from Orlando Sanford International Airport.

Davidson writes that the region’s highly trained work force, with higher education assets like the University of Central Florida, the University of Florida and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which produce more engineers in the Aviation, Aerospace & Defense Industry than any other region in the state, brought them confidence in the decision to expand and invest in new jobs. He predicts that expansion will lead to an even brighter future in Orlando.

National Airlines is also paying it forward by investing in the community through its partnership with the Orlando EDC. As a Corporate Council level investor, National Airlines is supporting the economic growth of the region and the EDC’s mission to create jobs. The airline also graciously placed the Orlando regional business brand, “Orlando. You don’t know the half of it.” on the nose of one of its passenger aircraft. Davidson concludes his commentary by saying National Airlines is proud of the relationships it’s built in Orlando.
