Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute to Expand with New HQ in Orlando

The Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute will expand its footprint in Orlando’s Lake Nona community with the construction of a new global headquarters. The $18 million state-of-the-art campus will house the Human Performance Institute's multidisciplinary training center and serve as the global hub for continuing research and development into science-based approaches to improve human energy capacity for performance, resilience and leadership. The company will create 25 new, high-wage jobs. Construction on the facility will be completed by the end of 2018.

Largest VA medical simulation center opens in Lake Nona

As the world’s capital of modeling, simulation and training, the Orlando region is often home to simulation facilities with unprecedented size and technological advancements. Recently, Orlando's Veterans Affairs Medical Center opened the nation’s largest VA medical simulation facility. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) SimLEARN National Simulation Center is the operational hub for coordination of all VA simulation-based clinical training. The 51,000-square-foot facility will serve as the epicenter of training for thousands of healthcare providers from across the U.S.

New proton therapy cancer treatment center opens in Orlando

Orlando’s innovative healthcare system has gained another advanced treatment center with Orlando Health’s opening of the Marjorie and Leonard Williams Center for Proton Therapy. Proton Therapy uses proton beams to precisely treat tumors and spare surrounding tissue. This method treats brain, spine, prostate, lung, breast, gastrointestinal, head and neck cancer in adult and pediatric patients.

Florida Blue triples its workforce with addition of 280 new jobs

Florida Blue, the state's largest health insurer, will add 280 new jobs, in addition to its existing 140 positions, as part of a major expansion of its Central Florida operations. The company made the announcement at its new, 30,000-square-foot office in Seminole County's Lake Mary.
