For the last 15 years, Orlando has been the location surgical robotics companies choose when introducing new technology to the U.S. market, and for good reason. With approximately 610 surgeons at 59 hospitals, the seven-county Orlando region presents a huge market opportunity. That’s not to mention the presence of a dedicated space for surgical robotics training.

Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute to Expand with New HQ in Orlando

The Johnson & Johnson Human Performance Institute will expand its footprint in Orlando’s Lake Nona community with the construction of a new global headquarters. The $18 million state-of-the-art campus will house the Human Performance Institute's multidisciplinary training center and serve as the global hub for continuing research and development into science-based approaches to improve human energy capacity for performance, resilience and leadership. The company will create 25 new, high-wage jobs. Construction on the facility will be completed by the end of 2018.

Largest VA medical simulation center opens in Lake Nona

As the world’s capital of modeling, simulation and training, the Orlando region is often home to simulation facilities with unprecedented size and technological advancements. Recently, Orlando's Veterans Affairs Medical Center opened the nation’s largest VA medical simulation facility. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) SimLEARN National Simulation Center is the operational hub for coordination of all VA simulation-based clinical training. The 51,000-square-foot facility will serve as the epicenter of training for thousands of healthcare providers from across the U.S.
