Leadership Orlando experiences I/ITSEC

Leadership Orlando Class 94 attended this year’s 51st annual Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) as part of its technology/modeling, simulation and training (MS&T) session. The morning was filled with presentations by industry experts, a few of whom were also Leadership Orlando graduates. Among them were Captain Erik O. Etz (LO88), Commanding Officer at the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, who gave a Team Orlando Overview; Dr. Jennifer Vogel-Walcutt, Director of Innovation, Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative, who discussed MS&T in a Global Context, and Dr. Michael Armbruster (LO88 and LO94 Class Chair), who presented the connection between MS&T and Career & Technical Education in STEM Education. In the afternoon, class members walked the exhibit hall represented by over 500 U.S. companies and over 60 countries.

Strength in Numbers:  Leadership Orlando Classes 93 and 94 Explore Polk County Together

In the days immediately following Hurricane Irma, much of Central Florida was without power, homes and businesses had sustained damage, schools had not reopened and lives were not yet back to normal. Because of this, the September session and visit to Polk County for Leadership Orlando Class 93 was cancelled.

Leadership Orlando Class 93 is ready to make an impact in the community

Last week, Class 93 concluded their participation in Leadership Orlando with presentations from many inspirational community leaders around Central Florida. Class Chair Yolanda Londoño, Vice President of Global Social Responsibility at Tupperware Brands Corporation, kicked off the final session for class members at Rollins College. The session's goal was to transform Class 93's experiences during the past eight months into actionable community service.
