Emmy-nominated productions filmed in Orlando

Two recent film projects shot in Orlando could earn Emmy Awards. The visual effects in “The Man in the High Castle” and the national “Love Has No Labels” public service announcement (PSA) received nominations from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. These Emmy-nominated productions put an emphasis on Orlando’s technical resources for film and digital media productions as well as highlight its inclusive culture.

Orlando Film Commission Celebrates 30 Years of Productions

The Orlando Film Commission, a division of the Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC), is celebrating its 30-year anniversary as the region’s only one-stop shop for the thriving local film industry. The Film Commission, a core function of the EDC since 1986, operates as the liaison between production companies and city, county and state governments. The Film Commission also promotes the four-county region of Orange, Osceola, Lake and Seminole and the City of Orlando as a premier production community.

Bentley Architects + Engineers, Inc. to expand and create 17 new jobs

Bentley Architects + Engineers, Inc., a locally based multi-discipline firm, will expand into a new Longwood 18,000 square-foot building adjacent to their current facility in Seminole County. The company will create 17 jobs over the next three years and make a $2.5 million capital investment into the region.

Projects have filmed in our area for decades, using the multitude of available landscapes from dense tropical vegetation and swampland to arid fields and everything in between. One of the Orlando Film Commission’s main goals is to present the Orlando region as a place where productions of all kinds can film projects in “Anywhere USA.”
