Florida Increases its Research and Development Tax Credits

Florida will nearly double its investment in Research and Development (R&D) when it raises the maximum amount of tax credits available to companies to $16.5 million in 2018. The R&D tax credit, now capped at $9 million, encourages and rewards manufacturers who bring new or improved products to market, as well as manufacturers who improve the manufacturing process.

Aromatech Opens Manufacturing Facility in Orlando

Aromatech Flavorings, Inc. celebrated the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Orlando during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by company executives, community leaders and the Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC). The company, which specializes in the design, production and marketing of food flavors and scents will bring 10 new projected jobs to the region with this expansion and a $3 million capital investment.

Valencia College Shapes Orlando’s Advanced Manufacturing Industry with New Training Center

What does it take to become a high-tech, advanced manufacturing hub? It starts with the right talent. That’s exactly what Valencia College aims to provide with the new Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Osceola County.

Located next door to the build site for the BRIDG facility, the center will directly impact the region by providing skilled workers to the region’s manufacturing companies. The proximity of the center to BRIDG and other manufacturing leaders, creates an atmosphere of collaboration and innovative learning for Orlando’s budding advanced manufacturing industry.

The idea of collaboration and partnership is nothing new to Orlando – BRIDG was born of a collaborative effort. The new training center was a community effort, including the partnership of established businesses like Lockheed Martin and Siemens contributing to the growth and future of the facility.

Coreslab Structures Breaks Ground on $10 Million Manufacturing Facility

Coreslab Structures, a premier producer of precast/prestressed hollow core concrete plank products in the United States and Canada, will build a 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Leesburg, located in Lake County. The company will hire 55 workers when it opens in 2016 bringing jobs and new opportunities to the community.  

"After months of negotiations we are about to embark on a new adventure," said Coreslab Structures President Mario Franciosa as he spoke to a crowd of community leaders who gathered to celebrate the company's official ground breaking.
