Orlando's MS&T ecosystem attracts billions in simulation contracts

Orlando is recognized as the Modeling, Simulation & Training (MS&T) capital of the world – so it is no surprise that I/ITSEC, the world’s largest MS&T conference, chooses Orlando to host nearly 15,000 industry, academia and government attendees each year. Over 300 companies will exhibit at I/ITSEC, over a third of which have a business presence in Orlando.

The Partnership gains high-tech job opportunities for Orlando from SEMICON West

The Orlando Economic Partnership business development team attended SEMICON West July 11-13, 2017 in San Francisco in partnership with BRIDG, the world’s first industry-led smart sensor consortium located in Osceola County. The team gained more than 20 leads interested in partnering with BRIDG and or opening an office in Orlando. The Orlando Economic Partnership also met with two tech-related companies based in the Silicon Valley that may have projects which could generate approximately 1,000 jobs for the region over the next several years.

Florida increases its Research and Development Tax Credits

Florida will nearly double its investment in Research and Development (R&D) when it raises the maximum amount of tax credits available to companies to $16.5 million in 2018. The R&D tax credit, now capped at $9 million, encourages and rewards manufacturers who bring new or improved products to market, as well as manufacturers who improve the manufacturing process.
