Orlando EDC President and CEO Rick Weddle was among the speakers at the 2015 State of the Port at the Canaveral Port Authority in Brevard County. While there, the port unveiled two containers wrapped in art containing the regional business brand, "Orlando. You don't know the half of it." The containers will travel around the world, equipped with location trackers.IMG_1524_2

Located less than 60 miles away, Port Canaveral is a regional asset and is considered Orlando's port. It serves as a gateway to major consumer markets and leisure destinations. Recent expansion of container and cargo terminals include several distribution and warehousing sites that offer the port direct access to major highways and rail lines.

During the State of the Port, Weddle outlined the regional footprint that extends beyond Central Florida with economic opportunity for those living outside the four county region that also includes the City of Orlando. Weddle also outlined the importance of investing in regional infrastructure which is critically important to economic development.
