Casey Barnes, vice president of business development for the Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC), recently completed the recertification of his Certified Economic Developer accreditation (CEcD), the highest benchmark a professional economic developer can attain.
As a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the world's largest membership organization serving the economic development profession, Barnes initially earned his accreditation in 2009. The CEcD program recognizes an economic development practitioner’s personal and professional commitment to the economic development profession.
“Casey is an exceptional leader in attracting, retaining and growing jobs in Orlando,” said Dave Porter, senior vice president of business development for the Orlando EDC. “He is a proven practitioner of economic development by many standards and the Orlando EDC has made great strides as we continue to champion a more prosperous and diverse economy.”
Prior to joining the EDC in 2013, Barnes worked at Enterprise Florida for 10 years and held positions of increasing responsibility including director of business development with a focus on aviation and aerospace, as well as the defense and homeland security industries.
