The name for the new integrated entity that resulted in the merger of the Central Florida Partnership and the Orlando Economic Development Commission was ratified by the full board at the first meeting at the Orlando Science Center. The new name – Orlando Economic Partnership – was selected from more than 100 options that the team at Anson-Stoner developed in partnership with Chair-Elect Ken Potrock and Regional Branding Forum Chair Jim Alessandro, who represent Walt Disney World Resort on the board of directors.
“The criteria for the name evaluation included ensuring we showed our geographic representation, our purpose/mission in driving economic vitality, something that felt inclusive, something that reflected our vision and compatibility with our business branding efforts,” said Potrock. “We felt that Orlando Economic Partnership best represented what we were seeking to communicate.”
Adjustments to the organization’s new name will occur over the course of the next few months – with a new logo, website landing page, and more.
During the meeting there was a special guest appearance from Tim Giuliani, President and CEO, who starts his new role in March. Giuliani spoke about his vision, hopes and excitement to share in the long-term prosperity of the region.
