Leadership Orlando Class 94 – Exploring Orlando's Other Half

Posted by Lisa Winkelbauer on Oct 9, 2017 2:04:06 PM

DSC_0126.jpgLeadership Orlando Class 94 didn’t let a little rain get in their way as they conquered the TEAMQUEST 94 scavenger hunt challenge in downtown Orlando last week.

The team building session began bright and early at the newly renovated Orlando Economic Partnership meeting space. Bob Kodzis (LO 36 & LO 54), the Creative Guy behind Flight of Ideas, Inc., provided the ground rules for the TEAMQUEST 94 scavenger hunt. Then, LO 94 began their journey around downtown Orlando, locating and photographing themselves at a variety of locations while also solving mind-bending challenges.

Upon their return, our scavengers learned about the “other half” of Orlando from Casey Barnes, vice president of business development at the Orlando Economic Partnership. Casey introduced the group to the Partnership's branding campaign, which spreads awareness that our region is more than just a great place to vacation; it’s also an amazing place to live and do business. Team building continued in the afternoon as the teams turned their competitiveness into a collaborative effort to build 300 Clean the World hygiene kits for hurricane relief distribution. The day concluded with a panel discussion on the UCF Downtown Campus, moderated by Michael Kilbride (LO 92), managing director for UCF Downtown, and included Eugene Jones, executive dean, Valencia Downtown, Thad Seymour, Jr., Ph.D., vice provost, UCF Downtown and Craig Ustler (LO 39), owner and president of Ustler Development, Inc.

Thank you to our scavenger hunt partners for graciously allowing our teams access to their facilities. Apparently, they were having as much fun as our class members. Click here to view photos.
