The Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) looks forward to a number of exciting and important initiatives that will create and retain jobs in the region in 2015. This New Year will mark the launch of the regional branding campaign, “Orlando. You don’t know the half of it,” designed to increase consideration of Orlando as a prime business location. A high-profile, high-impact business initiative will focus on bringing the types of impactful jobs that will help shape our region over the course of the next decade. The Orlando Economic Forum, led by the University of Central Florida’s Dr. Sean Snaith, will produce the first formal report on the region laying out important and meaningful business intelligence and economic facts and data. The EDC is also working through three major job creation and job retention initiatives that include the International Center for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR) the Modeling, Simulation and Training retention effort at UCF and the restoration and replenishment of the film incentive.
